Drs. Mark & Chris Stevens
For over 27 years Dr. Mark and Dr. Chris have been practicing here in South Florida.
They both graduated from the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. They moved to South Florida after graduation, were married, and have been practicing in Broward county ever since. Dr. Mark has always had a passion for surgery and has exceptional surgical skills. Dr. Chris has extensive internal medical knowledge and also enjoys dermatology and ophthalmology. They had always dreamed of opening a practice together one day. That dream came true on February 1st, 2016 when they opened their doors in the beautiful city of Lighthouse Point, Florida.
Always striving to ensure that their clients and their animals get the best possible care.
Dr.'s Mark and Chris compliment each other and work very well together in this family practice. They have two wonderful children, Kyle & Danielle, 3 dogs (Maggie, Maverick, and Simone), and 2 cats (Cookie and Toby).
Monica Klaver : Practice Manager
Monica has been in the veterinary field for over 30 years.
Monica has a B.S. in Animal Science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, did her internship at Oklahoma City Zoo and has been in the veterinary field for over 30 years.
She volunteers at her church, as well as has a love of gardening. She shares her home with her husband, 2 Maine Coon mixed cats, Grayson and Jaxson as well as numerous fish tanks (aka- kitty TV).
Rose Lauria : Assistant Practice Manager
Rose has been rescuing animals around her neighborhood as long as she can remember. Everything from frogs to dogs and everything in between.
Rose was born in Edison, NJ and has been in South Florida since she was 3. She She has over 14 years of experience in the veterinary field. She started as a kennel technician and has worked in every area of the hospital, with a special passion for patient care and lab diagnostics. She graduated from Sanford Brown with an AA in Animal Science.
She has 6 cats and 3 teenagers. She loves to watch football, play video games and dance in her spare time.
Linda Rabin : Client Service Representative
Linda really loves getting to know her clients and their furry family members.
Linda is a south Florida native and has always loved animals. She has volunteered at the humane society of Broward county for 10 years as well as caring for her daughters dog “Beckham” and a feral cat named “Mama” who has adopted her! She has worked as a customer service representative for the past 5 years and joined Stevens Animal Hospital in october 2017. She really loves getting to know her clients and their furry family members. Her background includes various accounting management positions and she graduated with a BSBA in marketing from the university of Florida. Go Gators!
In her spare time, she enjoys boating, cooking and anything outdoors!
Stephen Williams : Client Service Representative
Stephen shares his home with his two cats Salem and Venus and about 50 fish. He grew up in south Florida and has always enjoyed the beaches and nature which is one of the biggest reasons he loves south Florida.
He always is striving to be the best he can be and that is when he working with animals. He is a very avid gardener, which includes a patio full of fruit trees and flowers that he takes care of!
Kelly Hardee : Client Service Representative
Kelly was born and raised in south Florida. She graduated from FAU with a BA in Sociology and since then she has worked in Veterinary medicine for 12 years.
She loves to travel, dabble in photography, and collect vintage cameras. She lives in Fort Lauderdale with her boyfriend, and her two cats.
Marlene Monteiro : Pet Groomer
She and her 4 sisters grew up with dogs and farm animals and she knew at an early age she was meant to be with them.
Marlene is originally from Brazil. She received her Bachelor’s degree in International Commerce but knew after 11 years it was not right for her. She and her 4 sisters grew up with dogs and farm animals and she knew at an early age she was meant to be with them. She moved to the USA to pursue her animal passion of pet grooming. She graduated Merryfield School of Pet Grooming and has been fulfilling her dream ever since. She rescued the love of her life, Troy an 8 year old Rat Terrier, two years ago. Their dream is to have a big house where she can open a pet sitting business for both dogs and cats where she will also continue her grooming. Marlene attends continuing education seminars regularly so she can always be up to date on cutting edge pet styling.
Veronica Seiler : Veterinary Technician
Veronica knew she had a passion for the veterinary field at fifteen years old.
Veronica grew up around many different kinds of animals in various parts of the United States. She grew breeding and showing Great Danes. She also owned and showed horses and competed barrel racing and English Hunter Jumper. She knew she had a passion for the veterinary field at fifteen years old after delivering her Mom’s Great Dane puppies after complications arose. She graduated with a certificate as a Veterinary Technician in 2001 from Pima Medical Institute in Mesa, Arizona. Her favorite aspect of the field is surgery and anesthesia. She also loves internal medicine and educating clients.
She has a wonderful husband, and they have a toy poodle named “Annabelle”, a greyhound named “Vixen”, a cockapoo named “Maggie”, a chihuahua mix named “Pancho”, a morkie named “Chancho” , an african grey parrot named “ Rika, and two cats “Hobbs”, “Magick”, and Leo. She has been working with Dr. Mark and Dr. Chris for close to a decade.
Maggie Brawley : Veterinary Technician
Maggie is currently seeking her doctorate degree in pharmacy.
Maggie is from Minnesota. She received her associates degree in Veterinarian Technology while living there in 2008. She has her bachelors degree from Florida State University where she majored in Biology. She is currently seeking her doctorate degree in pharmacy.
When Maggie isn't at work or school she is loving on her three dogs Loki, Layla and Kilo or her little bird Malcom!"
Corell Brown : Veterinary Technician
Corell has been in the veterinary field since january 2000.
Family man, veterinary technician and musician, St. Louis native Corell has been in the veterinary field since January 2000. In this time he’s had the opportunity to learn from and work with some of the best veterinarians in South Florida. When not wearing his technician hat, Corell teaches vocal, drums and bass guitar lessons at a well known music school in Weston. Corell also manages to play his biggest role in raising his beautiful children.
With a great smile and positive attitude , Corell has often said, “the only two things in life that truly interests me are animals and music, and I am blessed to make my living doing both.”
Presley Oreste : Veterinary Technician
Presley is a South Florida native and likes to go by the name Pres.
He has been working the the veterinary field for 17 years and has been a veterinary technician for the last 7.
Rachel Rossen : Veterinary Technician
Rachel is originally from Ohio when she decided to move to South Florida and make it home.
She has enjoyed working with animals for over 10 years. Her chihuahua Paco is her furry best friend and one day she hopes to have a whole chihuahua farm! She loves getting together with friends exploring the outdoors, watching live music and sports.
Keri Ross : Technician
Keri has been working in animal hospitals around South Florida and Georgia on and off for 20 years.
In 2002 she moved down to the Keys to work in a hotel and ended up as the “Dolphin Coordinator” for their swimming with the dolphins program. From there, she moved to GA to work on a horse farm for a few years. Keri missed being close to the beach, so she moved back home to South Florida in 2013 and started volunteering with a sea turtle rescue organization in Deerfield Beach.
In her free time, Keri enjoys traveling, snorkeling, going to concerts, and spending time with her husband and fur kids. She has 3 cats and 2 dogs. Reggie is a scruffy mutt and Dixie is a Blue Tick Coonhound.
Laura Agudelo : Technician
Laura knew that she wanted to work with animals since she was a little girl.
She stated her career right out of high school and continues to strive to become a better technician every day. She shares her home with Mio a 9 year old Schipperkee and 2 cats, George and Sophie.
Kaitlyn Sheehan : Kennel Technician
Kaitlyn got involved in rescue when she was 16, has fostered countless dogs.
Kaitlyn is a Florida native who has the utmost passion for animals. She got involved in rescue when she was 16, has fostered countless dogs and shares her home with 2 dogs, a Yorkie named Elvis and a Shih Tzu named Daisy. Her constant exposure to sick animals led her down the road of wanting to be a veterinarian. She is currently in school at FAU and is working hard towards her degree in biological sciences.
When Kaitlyn is not bathing, walking or caring for the pets at work, you can find her working out or going to the movies.
Michelle Carnes : Kennel Technician
Michelle was born and raised in South Florida. She’s been working in the veterinary field and kennels for 4 ½ years. Since she was young she has dreamed of working with animals. She is working on her veterinary technician skills to one day be a qualified well rounded technician.
Michelle loves spending free time with her 3 dogs, Roxas the senior brindle mutt, Chester her other younger brindle mutt, and little Bowie the black and white Chinese Crested. She’s often seen with Sora her Senegal Parrot on her shoulder. Her husband also works in the boarding and daycare business for cats and dogs.
Her favorite things are painting, going to conventions, learning about dinosaurs, playing video games, and watching anime.
Skylar Sanchez : Kennel Attendant
Working at Stevens Animal Hospital has taught Sklyar skills and responsibility and he is thriving with his work family at Stevens Animal Hospital.
Skylar spends a lot of his free time playing video games and is exploring what he wants to do professionally as a full time career. He lives with his mom and sister and share their home with 6 cats; Smokey, Pirate, Ducky, Jessica, Lola and the youngest, Marshmallow. He is able to work in the same field as his mom since she is a veterinary technician.
Heidi Ramirez : Customer Service Representative
Heidi left human nursing after 7 years to pursue her dream of working with animals, and in 2005 started as a receptionist at a local animal hospital.
Originally from Southern California, Heidi moved to South Florida with her husband and 2 sons in 2005. She worked her way up to being a Veterinary Technician and in 2015 graduated with her AAS degree in Veterinary Technology.
She has 3 cats (Cosmo, Snickers & Salem) and a dog named Peanut. She has volunteered at South Florida Wildlife Center and Florida Humane and also does on call work for a mobile veterinary hospice. She will be working on a pet bereavement certification in the future to further help people who have lost their beloved pets. In her spare time she enjoys singing and spending time with her family, friends and pets.
